The Korean alphabet

The Korean alphabet is made up of funny looking characters that each have a distinct sound. In other words, once you memorize what each character sounds like, you then piece them together like a puzzle to sound out the word. So, it's a language that can be easy to learn, but understanding the meaning behind the words is a different story. Hangul isn't too intimidating once you understand that each character represents a single sound. Try it. You'll see.
